State Records must be set at the SDHS State Championships.
Why are the old records retired? The history of SDHS Powerlifting did not have established rules regarding equipment. Some records were set using single polyester equipment (squat suits, bench shirts, and knee wraps). There were also select years that SDHS Powerlifting recognized the 8 IPF weight classes instead of the traditional 10 weight classes. The current records are established using "raw" or "classic" powerlifting rules and traditional weight classes. Congrats to both retired and existing record holders on some great lifts.
